Cadets from Cullybackey Detachment C Company have been praised for their “fantastic job” preparing Craigs Parish Church ahead of this Sunday’s Remembrance Service.

A spokesperson for the Parishes of Craigs, Dunaghy and Killagan said the young cadets spent Tuesday evening decorating the church in readiness for the annual commemoration.

“Last night, the cadets from Cullybackey Detachment C Company did a fantastic job decorating Craigs Parish Church in preparation for Sunday morning’s Remembrance Service,” the spokesperson said.

“They also rehearsed the laying of the wreath, honouring the brave souls who sacrificed so much for our freedom.”

The Remembrance Service, led by Rev. Ivan Bond, will take place on Sunday at 11:30am at Craigs Parish Church.

Representatives from the local community and organisations, including the Cullybackey Royal British Legion, will lay wreaths in tribute to fallen service members.

“The service will be led by Rev. Ivan Bond, with various representatives laying wreaths to pay their respects. It starts at 11:30, and everyone is welcome to join us in this meaningful observance,” the spokesperson added.

Remembrance Day holds deep significance across Northern Ireland, particularly for those in uniform and members of the Army Cadet Force (ACF). It serves as a solemn reminder of the courage and sacrifice of those who have served in conflicts around the world.
