Fire Service rescues bull from slurry tank in Portglenone



Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) were tasked to the scene of incident at a farm on the Crawfordstown Road, Portglenone, after a bull got stuck in a slurry tank, on Saturday 11 December.


Units from Ballymena, Kilrea, and Maghera Fire Stations were dispatched shortly after 1.40pm to the incident, and were joined by colleagues in the Large Animal Rescue Team from Central Fire Station, and the Specialist Rescue Team from Omagh.

Firefighters used a telehandler and large animal rescue equipment to extract the bull, with the incident was dealt with by 4.12pm.

it is understood that the bull survived.
