Firefighters tackle large blaze in County Antrim

Firefighters are battling a large blaze in Ballymoney this afternoon, Monday 22 November.

Emergency Services were tasked to the scene of the fire at a commercial premises, understood to be the former Fleming Poultry Factory, on the Ballymena Road in the town at around 4.30pm.


Eight Fire Appliances with over 30 firefighters, and a Command Support Unit are at the scene.



Police have advised motorists to avoid the area. A spokesperson for the PSNI said:


“Motorists are advised to avoid the Ballymena Road area of Ballymoney due to a large fire.



“Please seek alternative routes for your journey.


“Additionally, anyone living nearby is asked to keep their windows and doors closed.”
