Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council win Overall Council of the Year 2024 at APSE Awards

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council has been named as Overall Council of the Year 2024 for Service Delivery at the APSE Awards ceremony last night in Bristol. The Council was one of eight finalists from across the UK up for the prestigious title and the only Council in Northern Ireland to be nominated.

 

The Council also won the Best Services Team for its Bereavement and Cemetery Services and was a named finalist in five other categories.



Speaking at the awards ceremony Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey Councillor Neil Kelly commented:


“I am deeply honoured to receive these prestigious awards. This is a huge accomplishment for Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council. To be awarded UK Council of the year in a competition with over 300 county, city and borough Councils illustrates the commitment of our staff and quality of the front-line services we provide.



“I would like to pay tribute to the Council officers for their innovation, dedication and determination that drives the Council’s efforts in providing effective front-line services which have been highly recognised at these Awards”.

 

 The APSE Service awards celebrate excellence in public service delivery across the UK and receive hundreds of submissions each year from local authorities across the UK.
