Misty Burn cafe announces closure

Sadly another much-loved local eatery has this morning (Tuesday 14 September) announced its intention to close after eight years of serving customers from near and far.

The Misty Burn situated on the A36 between Ballymena and Larne, has been a popular stop-in for travellers as well as the local community who came to appreciate the relaxed welcoming atmosphere and homely food.

Owner Sam announced the news saying:

“It is with a heavy heart that I am writing to you all today – the last 18 months have been quite unlike any other, the global pandemic has had a massive impact on all our lives, and unfortunately the Hospitality sector has been hit particularly hard with a long road of recovery ahead.

“With all of this in mind I have made the very difficult decision to officially close our much-loved Misty Burn Coffee Shop.

“I would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to my wonderful team, for their hard work, their commitment and all the laughs along the way. It’s been an absolute pleasure to be part of this community for the last 8 years but now it’s time for me to take a small step back and focus on my family.

“As the Shop will remain open, I hope to see each and every one of you sometime soon.

“Love Sam”.

Last week Billy Andy’s announced the closure of the restaurant citing difficulties with hiring staff.
