Applicants invited to apply for Council’s Grant Support Scheme
Mid and East Antrim Borough Council is inviting applicants to apply for its Grants Support and Good Relations Grants Scheme, with both schemes now open for projects and activities taking place between 1 April 2021 and 31 March 2022. Chair of Mid and East Antrim’s Policy and Resources Committee, Alderman Robin Cherry MBE, said: “The aim of the Grant Support Scheme is to provide financial support through various grants categories.
Organisers of events as well as community groups, sports clubs and arts groups within the Borough who are
undertaking projects which are of benefit to all of the citizens of the Mid and East Antrim Borough area are being encouraged to apply for funding.
“We are also pleased to announce that two new grants have been introduced to the 2021/2022 scheme, including an event application to celebrate the Centenary of Northern Ireland and an application for individuals through the Jonathan Rea Bursary.
“In addition to this, groups may also apply for one additional application towards the purchasing an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), a vital piece of equipment to have.”
Grants available towards community-based projects include setting up of new groups, equipment, public liability insurance, community events, civic representation and international events.
Alderman Cherry continued: “We are also encouraging applications for the Good Relations Grants Scheme for activities taking place from 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2022. The purpose scheme is to consider support for any constituted community or voluntary group undergoing activities within its statutory and civic remit where there is a benefit to Good Relations in the Mid and East Antrim area.
“The scheme will be 100 per cent funded up to a maximum of £2,500, which can be secured through one large application or through a series of smaller applications.”
