All creatures great & small | Co. Tyrone vet removes tumour from goldfish

Poor Thor the goldfish developed a tumour on his face that was affecting his vision and ability to swim and feed, so the talented team at Corey & O’Hare Vets in Omagh decided to admit him for surgery today.

Using a soluble anaesthesis through his water, the fantastic nurses maintained his anaesthetia by moving oxygenated water over his gills whilst we performed this intricate surgery.

Lucky for Thor, the op was a success and he lives to swim another day!
