Weather warning issued by Met Office as new week begins

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning saying heavy rain is likely to bring some flooding and impacts to travel across Northern Ireland as the new week starts.

The warning is effective from 7am to 10pm tomorrow, Monday 31 October.

A spokesperson for the Met Office said:

"A band of rain will move east across Northern Ireland during Monday, possibly becoming slow moving during the afternoon and evening.

"Some heavy rain is expected at times, with 10-20 mm of rain falling fairly widely, whilst a few places may receive around 40 mm.

"There is uncertainty in the extent of the larger rainfall totals, but given that the ground is already saturated after recent heavy rain, even the lower totals may produce some flooding impacts."
