Secretary of State hails 'incredible' work of K9 Search and Rescue Team

The Secretary of State Chris Heaton-Harris met the K9 Search and Rescue dogs and their handlers at the Northern Ireland Office's headquarters in Belfast on Friday (August 4).


Following the meeting the Secretary of State praised the efforts of the K9 Search and Rescue dogs and their handlers.

Mr Heaton-Harris personally thanked the team for the work they do to highlight the issue of missing people in Northern Ireland and further afield, and heard more about the services they provide to those in need.


The Secretary of State hailed the “incredible” and “vital” actions of the dogs and their handlers.



A spokesperson for K9 Search & Rescue NI commented:


"On Friday morning we were invited to the Northern Ireland Office to meet with the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Chris Heaton-Harris MP.


"He was interested to hear about our work here in Northern Ireland and our recent deployment to Türkiye, to search for survivors of the deadly earthquake.


"Search and Rescue Dog Betsy kept a close eye on his notes!"
