An application for change of use for a town centre premises has been made in recent weeks to Mid and East Antrim Borough Council, to make way for a new dentist practice.
The applicant, The First Chapter Company Ltd, a real estate entity, is seeking to change the use of the former old post office building at 51-63 Wellington Street, from retail to a dental surgery.
The report to planners notes
'The concentration of commercial and complementary uses, such as a dental practice, strengthens town centres. The proposed dental practice is such a complementary use which will contribute to the vitality and vibrancy of Ballymena Town Centre.'
The plans will be considered by Mid and East Antrim Borough Council's Planning Committee over the months ahead.
