Police conduct number of ‘positive searches’ in Ballymena



Officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) conducted a number of searches in the Ballymena area today, Friday 19 November.

The positive searches resulted in a number of seizures including suspected cannabis and the controlled drug, Pregabalin.



A PSNI spokesperson commented:


“Mid and East Antrim Neighbourhood Policing teams in Ballymena and Larne were all involved in a series of positive premises searches in their communities this morning, relating to controlled drugs.”



According to the police update, officers conducted searches in the Harryville and Portglenone areas, and were assisted by local Tactical Support Group (TSG) officers.

Today’s searches were the latest in a number of recent operations targeting illegal drug use and supply in the Ballymena area.
